The Conical (STTC) soldering tip cartridge features a narrow design with precise dimensions of 0.4 mm x 8.4 mm (∅ x L) and belongs to the 700 Series product line.
These STTC and SMTC Solder Tip Cartridges serve as the standard soldering tip range compatible with Metcal MX-500, MX-5200, and MX-5200 series soldering systems. The entire cartridge selection is offered in three distinct temperature ranges to accommodate various operational needs. The 600-series operates nominally at 330°C, the 700-series functions at 390°C, and the 800-series delivers a nominal temperature of 450°C.
The specific temperature series is indicated by the first digit following the dash in the product part number. For instance, the 600-series uses the format STTC/SMTC-0xxx, the 700-series corresponds to STTC/SMTC-1xxx, and the 800-series is designated as STTC/SMTC-8xxx. The 700-series is highly recommended for the vast majority of standard applications. Conversely, the 600-series is ideal for light load or low-temperature tasks, while the 800-series is engineered for high-temperature and thermally demanding applications. These cartridges are fully compatible with both leaded and lead-free solder alloys. Additionally, the integrated SmartHeat®-Technology automatically regulates power levels during every soldering operation to ensure optimal thermal performance.
