Flying Probes

Flying probe testers use moving probes to contact selected locations on a circuit board. They offer a flexible electrical testing approach when frequent design changes or smaller batches make a dedicated fixture less practical.

Test programs define where probes travel and which measurements are performed. Coverage depends on accessible nodes, board geometry and the system’s measurement capabilities. Flying probe testing can be useful during development and production, but it should not be assumed to verify every operating function of the finished product.

Evaluate probe access on representative assemblies, particularly around tall components or densely populated areas. Programming effort, test duration and handling influence capacity. Changes to the board should be reflected in both the program and its validation. Stored results can help identify recurring faults and compare test performance across batches.

At Sinerji, you can find flying probe test systems for suitable PCB applications. Our team can help you assess access, coverage and throughput for your board designs.
